It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving. How is everyone feeling? Full and shopped out, I hope! We spent the long weekend holed up in a beautiful mountain lodge a few hours from our house. We celebrated Thanksgiving, my husband’s birthday, relaxed and explored the town of Leavenworth. This was our 3rd time in Leavenworth for Thanksgiving. It’s such a magical town that turns into a winter wonderland this time of year. If you’re ever visiting Washington add Leavenworth to your list to check out!
Today I want to share with you a little refresh I made to our master bedroom. Our bedroom has always been a neglected room in our home. A dumping grounds for everybody’s stuff really! However since our house is pretty small and our room is visible from the main living area, it was time for a cleaning and re-do. This is no where near where I want it to be but it’s a start. We’re getting a new mattress in the next couple of months and I have my eye on a metal bed frame and new dressers and night stands. I’ve had this current IKEA furniture FOREVER. Can you believe I haven’t had a bed frame with a headboard since probably 1995?! I just keep adding more pillows to make it look better.
The first thing I did was get some new bedding. I’ve always loved a crisp white bed. I went with bamboo sheets and duvet cover from Aloha Soft because I’ve heard such great things about bamboo. It’s twice as soft and cotton and stays cool. My husband has always been a bit of a hot sleeper (okay, he’s a sweater!) so I am really enjoying this bedding! Bamboo has naturally thermal-regulating, moisture-wicking properties. I sleep so much more comfortably now.
I pulled all of the decorations and accessories from other rooms in our house. I have a stash of decor items that I store in our laundry room to switch things up every few months (shhh don’t tell my husband). The farmhouse sign was in our dining room before I added the shelves.
We share our room with Timothy for the time being. He has his own cute little corner for sleeping. I tried to keep all the colors similar throughout the room so the nursery would flow as well.
What do you think? For only replacing the bedding and adding a few accessories I love how it turned out. I’ve actually been able to keep it clean and clutter free for a couple of weeks too! It feels so much better to go to sleep in a clean room. I’ll share another update when I get the bed frame I’ve been dreaming of 🙂
