Don’t hate me but I started decorating for fall already! Hear me out – I went to Marshalls this last weekend and found a few things (a pumpkin, candle and a fall sign). Instead of storing them away for a few weeks I put them out. I promised myself I would wait until September 1st and I almost made it. Why wait if it’s something that makes you happy, right? Since I didn’t get around to doing a home tour this summer I thought I would share these pictures of our farmhouse dining room, pumpkins and all!
Our dining room table is the first piece of nice furniture that my husband and I bought together. Almost all of the rest of our furniture was mine that we’re making last until we no longer have toddlers! I absolutely love this table. It is so sturdy! I feel like it’s a piece I will pass on to my kids. It has two built in leafs that pull out from either side. It’s so handy not having to store them away.
I change the decor on our table weekly. It usually involves some sort of fresh fruit or flowers. These hydrangeas are from my garden. For some reason they didn’t turn white so I brought them in. They are still very pretty in their half bloomed state. I found the antique tray and pillar holders at a junk sale last spring. I’ve really started embracing mixing creams and whites!
Our old window was a gift from a friend (hi Megan!). She loves old, pretty stuff as much as I do! It was the perfect addition to this wall. I added a magnolia wreath from one of my favorite etsy shops.
I’m pretty obsessed with these shelves that my husband put up for me a couple weeks ago. I used to have a huge farmhouse sign and olive buckets here and I just never loved it. You can see a picture here. The boards were less than $6 each at Home Depot and I ordered the wrought iron shelf brackets from Amazon. I scored the vertical antiques sign from Michaels for 40% off. I’ve seen similar signs for $60+.
The scale is from Hobby Lobby and it used to be green. I spray painted it Rustoleum Heirloom White, my new favorite color. I have several other projects lined up for this color! Everything else I pulled from around our house to complete the look.
This is the kitchen side of our dining room. Lovely blue counters and all! I don’t think my husband ever looks at our menu board because he still asks me every day what’s for dinner! The chalkboard and wrought iron handles are from Decor Steals.
So there you have it, our farmhouse dining room! What’s your favorite part? When do you plan to decorate for fall? This is just the beginning for me!
